After an amazing summer in the UK, it’s time to start dreaming about Devon holidays in 2027.
What a summer it has been.
After an amazing summer across the UK, there’s something rather lovely about looking ahead to the next one — and if you’re already dreaming about blue skies, sandy beaches, long coastal walks, lazy lunches and evenings spent enjoying good food, then perhaps it’s time to put Devon 2027 firmly on your wish list.
And here at Brightham House Boutique Bed & Breakfast, our 2027 diary is officially OPEN!
We’ll be reopening our doors on Tuesday 20th April 2027, ready for another season of sunshine, adventures, relaxation, great food and, of course, plenty of those little Brightham House touches that make a stay with us feel rather special.
Devon is calling…
There’s a reason people fall in love with Devon.
From the rolling green countryside of the South Hams to the dramatic coastline, hidden coves and golden sandy beaches, this corner of the West Country has everything you need for a proper escape.
And after this summer, we’ve been reminded just how stunning Devon’s beaches really are.
Salcombe, Hope Cove, South Sands, North Sands, Bantham and Thurlestone are all within easy reach, each with its own character and charm. Spend the morning swimming in the sea, walking the South West Coast Path or simply finding a quiet spot to sit and watch the world go by.
Then come back to Brightham House, kick off your shoes and relax.
That’s the beauty of a Devon stay — you can do as much or as little as you like.
A Devon escape for every generation
Perhaps you’re a couple looking for your next adventure.
Maybe you want coastal walks, paddleboarding, exploring Salcombe, discovering independent shops and galleries, finding great places to eat or simply getting away from the usual routine.
Or perhaps you’re retired and looking for somewhere comfortable, welcoming and peaceful for a few nights away — with beautiful surroundings, delicious food and plenty to see and do without having to rush.
The wonderful thing about Brightham House is that Devon can be whatever you want it to be.
Active or relaxed. Coastal or countryside. Foodie or explorer. Weekend escape or longer holiday.
You set the pace.
And then there’s Brightham House…
Tucked away in the South Hams countryside, just a stone’s throw from Salcombe, Brightham House is rather more than somewhere to sleep.
It’s a place to eat, relax, explore and enjoy yourself.
Our eight individually styled bedrooms are designed to feel comfortable, characterful and a little bit different. Think vintage treasures, retro touches and interiors full of imagination — all wrapped up with the warmth of a home-from-home.
There are lounges for relaxing, gardens for enjoying the sunshine and plenty of spaces to simply sit with a drink and watch the day disappear.
And then there’s breakfast…
Wake up to a Brightham breakfast
One of the best things about staying away is waking up knowing someone else is making breakfast.
And Scott takes breakfast very seriously!
From homemade granola, Bircher muesli, pastries and fresh fruit to Devon cream, porridge brûlée and a proper Devon Full English, there’s plenty to get your day off to a delicious start.
There are also Scott’s homemade seeded bagels with combinations such as parmesan eggs, mushrooms, avocado, bacon or smoked salmon.
And those homemade jams and marmalades?
They’re made right here at Brightham House.
It’s all part of what makes staying here feel personal. It’s not just about ticking a box on a hotel booking — it’s about enjoying the little things.
Summer evenings taste even better
And talking of food…
One of the highlights of our season has become our weekly Italian Feast nights.
Throughout the summer, our orangery comes alive for an evening inspired by the flavours and relaxed spirit of Italy.
Good food, good wine, great company and that wonderful feeling that you could be sitting somewhere in Tuscany — even though you’re actually in Devon.
We’ve also been known to spice things up with extra summer event nights, including our popular Thai Feast evenings.
So if you’re planning a 2027 stay, why not time your visit around one of our Feast nights?
Because a great day exploring Devon followed by a long, leisurely evening of fabulous food at Brightham House sounds like a pretty good holiday to us.
Make 2027 your year to LOVE DEVON
There’s something timeless about Devon.
It works for the adventurous twenty-something couple discovering the South West for the first time just as beautifully as it does for those who have been visiting Devon for decades.
It’s about fresh sea air, muddy walking boots, sandy feet, cream teas, coastal sunsets, wonderful food and discovering somewhere new around the next corner.
It’s about slowing down.
And sometimes, it’s about doing absolutely nothing.
So, after an amazing summer in the UK, why not start planning the next one?
Our 2027 diary is now open, and we’ll be welcoming guests back to Brightham House from 20th April 2027.
Come and discover the South Hams. Explore Salcombe. Walk the coast path. Find your favourite Devon beach. Eat well. Sleep well. Relax.
And make some memories along the way.
LOVE DEVON. LOVE BRIGHTHAM HOUSE.
2027 is waiting.
