As the final evening of Brightham House’s 2024 season approached. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a unique Halloween-themed “Italian Feast.” The night brought together our wonderful guests for an evening of indulgence, laughter, and community. The house full and the air buzzing with excitement, it was a perfect farewell to another remarkable season at Brightham House.
Setting the Stage: An Italian Halloween
Our vision for the evening blended the charm of a traditional Italian feast with the festive spirit of Halloween. The house was transformed into a magical haven with twinkling lights, autumnal décor, and touches of spooky elegance. Pumpkins carved with intricate designs sat alongside olive branches and candles, while the aroma of authentic Italian cuisine filled the air. The courtyard garden featured softly glowing lanterns, setting the mood for mingling before the feast began.
Guests arrived in high spirits, some even embracing the theme with costumes and a dash of Halloween mischief. From Venetian masks to witches with a Mediterranean twist, the creativity on display added a layer of fun and excitement to the evening.
The Feast: A Celebration of Italian Cuisine
The centerpiece of the evening was the meal itself—a true Italian banquet lovingly prepared by Janey of Feast Kitchen with fresh, local ingredients. Guests were welcomed with a glass of prosecco and an assortment of antipasti, including bruschetta topped with roasted tomatoes, creamy burrata, and cured meats. A communal table was laid out with dishes designed to be shared, bringing everyone together in the true spirit of an Italian family meal.
The menu featured a hearty mushroom risotto, and handmade pumpkin-filled ravioli—a nod to Halloween’s traditional flavours. For the mains, tender osso buco and a vibrant seafood linguine delighted guests, paired with a selection of fine Italian wines. Vegetarian and vegan options, including a rich eggplant parmigiana, ensured every guest felt catered to.
Dessert was a grand finale of tiramisu, cannoli, and panna cotta, all accompanied by shots of limoncello and espresso for an authentic Italian touch. The laughter and chatter around the table reflected the joy of shared good food and great company.
