Dog Friendly Hotel Hope Cove

Dog Friendly Hotel Hope Cove

Looking for a dog friendly Hotel in Hope Cove to book? As travellers and Devon dog owners ourselves we look for dog friendly hotels to stay in. Our bed & breakfast Brightham House accepts dogs. Not all our rooms are dog friendly though, so you must book direct and let us know in advance if bringing a dog. We just ask that they are well behaved and not too barky.

Why is it great for dogs in Devon?

Bringing you dog on holiday couldn’t be easier. The South Hams is an area of outstanding beauty. There’s so many countryside walks that dogs and owners will enjoy.

A popular walk is from Malborough to Hope Cove. It takes about 30/40 mins through the footpaths and across the fields.

Hope Cove Walk Guide

Walk through the church yard first. Then facing you take the right hand fork heading to Hope Cove. After 1/2 a mile you’ll see a footpath sign in the hedge on the right, up a few steps. Take this path through a few sheep fields (dogs must be on a lead through here) and follow the ridge.

On the ridge are two large wind turbines, which can act as you beacon. You’ll then begin to drop down a bridal path and you’re nearly there. You’ll see a little chapel on the top of the hill overlooking Inner Hope. You can walk between the two beaches, the other is Outer Hope. Only inner is dog friendly though (again dogs must be on a lead)

Where you’ll be staying

At the guest house we have 3 rooms which are dog friendly. Each room will have a small bed, food bowl and doggie treats ready for your fur baby’s.

A popular king size room is our ‘Garden Room’ It’s a room that’s on the ground floor, with French doors leading to the garden. It’s got lots of nice things for the parents to enjoy too. Two comfy chairs to relax in and views of the garden. Plus a SmartTV, Nespresso coffee machine and large rain shower.

There’s two others that are dog friendly. We allow dogs in our ‘Dartmoor’ and ‘Courtyard’ bedrooms too.

Shopping & Eating Out

When you visit salcombe you’ll find that many visitors have their dogs with them. All the shops, galleries and cafes allow dogs.

The pubs and restaurants also let owners bring their dogs in. Just let them know when you’re reserving a table, as some have separate seating areas especially for dogs.

You can take your dog pretty much anywhere in the South Hams with no trouble. Visit Totnes one day, it’s nice to wonder the boutique shops, cobbled streets, and pubs. Theres a Saturday market with fresh artisan bread stalls, vegan bites, and local craft men’s goods.

Our favourite pub is the ‘Journeys End Inn’ in Ringmore. The food is the best in the west, and has won awards to prove it. It’s about 25mins from the B&B.
