‘A Hidden Gem’ – Our Favourite Devon Resturant & Walk

The Journeys End Pub

We have tried and tested nearly all of the restaurants in our local area of the South Hams. However there’s one that really shines, and it takes some beating too. Our favourite causal dinning restaurant is in Ringmore. It’s just 20 minutes drive from Brightham House, and it’s called ‘The Journey’s End’. Boy are you in for a treat if you book this pub, we love it!

The pub itself was built in the 13th century, so packed full of history and character too. There is a beautiful National Trust walk you might like to do before your meal too, and it’s a little less known cove called ‘Ayrmer Cove’. The walk talks about 45mins to the Ayrmer The Journeys End Pub Cove and beach. As stories go the ships docked in the cove, and the path was formed by smugglers bringing in contraband, that was then hidden in the pub.

This is an example menu of the Journey’s End. They also always have several specials on, and the Sunday roast is AMAZING. Book well in advance, as it’s extremely popular with holiday makers and the locals too.
