Salcombe Accommodation for 2022

Burgh Island

As the year begins to come to a close, we reflect the good times and memories we made in 2021. We start to look at our diaries, and begin to make new plans with friends and families for the New Year ahead.

Salcombe Accommodation

Don’t want the hassle of traveling aboard. Thinking of staycation in the UK. It’s often best to book direct with the hotel, B&B or AirBnB, as you will always get the best rates, saving on paying extra hidden agency fees. Often some of these accommodations are run by independent owners, like ourselves at Brightham House, Salcombe. We have an online booking system which is one of the easiest ways to book with us. However we love to speak to you too. Just give us a call direct 01548 560111.

Accommodation Salcombe 5 star Hotel

Our website is full of lots of information about our facilities. We have 8 luxury award winning bedrooms, an award winning breakfast menu and a wood-fired hot tub, set in a beautiful garden. Plus we have included information on our local restaurants, which Scott & I (Alistair) have tried and tested. It’s always best to book these a few weeks in advance of your stay. The South Hams has lots of places of interest, you’ll find plenty of these on our website too. We have our local beaches like Hope Cove, South Milton and of course North & South Sands in Salcombe, are a must visit.

Tourism

We also have tourist information centres in Kingsbridge, Salcombe and towns like Totnes and Dartmoor. All these places have lots of history, independent shops selling homemade fudge, artwork, leather bags and much more. If you’ve got sweat tooth there’s seaside gift shops like Cranch’s sweet shop in Salcombe, that have been established since 1869. Plus farm shops, with local produce like meats and home grown vegetables.

Malborough

In our village, right in the centre of Malborough, there are two local pubs and a post office. We’ve got the Old Inn, run by Glyn & Shan, and their team. It’s a real local pub, that does good pub grub. They’ve just won an award gold ‘Taste of the West’ 2021. They often have specials dishes, and have a pie night every Wednesday night during the winter months. The other pub in the village the Royal Oak, run by Tim, has a great atmosphere, and it’s quite quirky too. They have live music most weekends, Friday or Saturday nights. There’s a nice garden, plus they’ve got a popular pool table. Both pubs have our local Salcombe Brewery’s beers, which we also stock in our guest bar.

Devon is a great place visit for a short weekend break. Visitors in Easter often book 4 nights, due to the bank holiday. However in the summer holidays, it’s more like 7 nights. For year now families have been holidaying in Devon. You’ll find that there’s lots to do, lots of places to visit and things to do. One of our biggest attractions is our coastline, we have the south west coast path that spans 205 miles North and South of Devon, so great if you are a keen walker. However if you like to see the coast from another perspective, jump in a boat. There’s lot’s of boat trips like the South Sands ferry, that runs all day. You might fancy hiring a boat which you can do from the quay in Salcombe. They let you hire a boat for 1 hr or 4hrs, and you can visit some of the estuaries hidden beaches (sunny cove) or Gara Rock, and perhaps see a seal along the way too.

Whatever the weather, and whatever the time of year you always find something fun to do in Devon & Cornwall too. That’s why they call it Devon Heaven. Hopefully all our guests take home a piece with them after a stay at Brightham House. A boutique B&B with all the comforts of a 5 star hotel.
